Satsang and Gatherings...

Traditional Buddhist Wisdom holds that there are three mutually necessary aspects of this instrumental reality which resonates the truth of things. First there is the Dharma: the Way by which everything is related to everything else. Second, there is the Buddha: the nature in which all of the "separate" entities in this Universe receive and accept the Dharma. Third, there is the Sangha, the community of beings who, by practicing their Buddha nature together (that is, following the Dharma together), reinforce and amplify the Way to peace and fullfillment for all beings, until suffering is ended in the Universe and wisdom and compassion are manifest.

Satsang is a kind of temporary and recurrent Sangha. It is a gathering for the unified witnessing of truth. The name derives from the the Sanskrit "Sat" which describes the balancing still-point between the dynamics of expansion and contraction which are said to be present in every aspect of the material Universe. Satva is described as a state of lucid, scintillating clarity and truth.

Our Satsang looks like a gathering which waits upon the truth which is revealed by the phrase, "Things are not as they seem," to call forth our essential natures in the presence of each other.

Other gatherings may have a focused topic, in the structure of a Dharma Talk, Sharing Circle, or interactive exploration. Always, though, our gatherings recognize that nothing happens in isolation. A focus on one subject does not mean to exclude others. All are welcome to our Satsang, which is free, by donation.

Please refer to our schedule frequently for updated information on gatherings.
