Sacred and Mystical Music...
Gavain says: "Sound happens because the Universe is resonant. In this vast echo chamber, forms that exist,
forms that have existed, and forms that might yet exist all vibrate with each other, in harmonic sympathy together.
A phenomenon called the natural harmonic frequency allows vibrations to translate from one form to another across an apparent open space of separation between them. Soon it is clear that the context of everything is vibrations at different frequencies and energies, from the wave-forms which describe the basic structure of reality in Quantum Mechanics to the geologic meter of the planet, to the rhythms of daily life. There is a pulse to blood, a rhythm to thought...even self-indentity comes in a pattern of ebb and flow, thousands of times a second.
This is the music that in ancient India and Greece was understood to be beyond audible sound, ubiquitous and ever resonating. However, audible sound is a model and microcosm of that kind of Universe, physically reshaping the instrument that creates it. Human sound ranges from the voice, a column of air shaped by the human body to express emotion and project meaning, to the noise we make in sending vibrations through objects. The language of music is subtle and layered with significance in a way that is unique.
Music is my life."
